It’s that time of year when we have Star Wars on the brain….but how do we incorporate it into our daily activites….for me? Through food.
As we gear up for the big day, I have been busy in the kitchen making star wars related food and drink. This doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be as simple as a “han burger” which is just a regular old hamburger that we have renamed. The kids love it and it makes life easy. So here is what I’m making this week if you want to follow along and make it for yourself.
1st things first, the “Han Burger”. This was easy, it’s just your regular run of the mill burger. I just added a toothpick with Han solo on it.
You can virtually make anything “star wars”
So, here’s what we’re doing….the official menu if you will.
Light Saber Pretzel Stix
Ray Portion Bread
Blue Milk
7 Leia Dip
Han Burgers
Should you want to make these for yourselves
Light Saber Pretzel Stix
Stick shaped pretzels
Coloured Chocolate disks
Over low head add some water to a pot (about 2 inches) and add a bowl over with the chocolate disks. Once melted dip your pretzel sticks and set aside on parchment paper to harden. Enjoy!
Ray Portion Bread
Ingredients
2 tbsp coconut oil (melted)
2 tbsp milk (any kind)
1 egg
1 tbsp matcha powder
5 tbsp flour (self rising)
pinch of salt
3 tbsp sugar
Mix all ingredients in a small bowl and then split between two greased ramekins. Microwave for 1 1/2 minutes and VOILA portion bread!
Blue Milk
Ingredients
2 cups vanilla sweetened rice milk (I used oat as that’s all I had)
Blue food colouring
Mix well and serve cold.
How do you celebrate May the 4th? Would love to hear. We’ll be snacking away and watching all the movies in chronological order.
