Our own unique way of ranking Disney Resorts

It’s important to find a Disney resort that fits your needs. Let us help you! The Chip Rating lets you easily compare resorts against one another, using metrics we feel are most important when deciding where to stay. Each metric is given a rating out of 4, with a total rating for each resort out of 25.

So what are the metrics? I will walk you through each one so that you can decide which is most important to you when selecting your Disney home base! Feel free to sort by the metric that speaks to you the most for example if location is your non-negotiable; sort by location. If you want the highest overall rating, sort that way. We will also indicate a ‘Hero Factor’ for each resort, the metric that really sets each resort apart.

Price:

When you’re planning a trip especially to Disney, it has to be done with a budget in mind. Understanding what is most important to you is key when deciding on the right resort. With so many to offer at so many levels of price, this makes it possible to plan a personalized trip for each budget. 

Transportation:

If you are new to Disney World, you might not know that it is MASSIVE. 27,000 acres massive. 4 times my hometown massive. So, when you decide on a resort, you’ll want to consider transportation options. Factoring in travel time is essential when creating your itinerary to avoid any missed reservations and subsequent side eye from your travel buddies.

Food & Drink:

Here we will dive into options for sustenance and libations! Are you looking for world class chefs? Entertaining nights out? Or a whimsical Disney themed snack (food innovation lovers, I am looking at you!). There is no Margarita too strong, and no churro too sweet. We cover it all here for you.

Style & Theme:

Each resort leans into an overall ambience or what the kids these days would call a “vibe”. Here we will break down amenities like the pool situation, extracurriculars you may enjoy and the whimsical details you can look forward to experiencing. Trust me when I say no detail is spared, you can even look forward to a signature resort scent!

Amenities:

Just as the pricing is important in your decision making, so are the amenities. Will you be taking resort days to kick back by the pool or will you be out in the parks each and every day? What the resort has to offer as far as pools, activities, shopping and restaurants are all a factor in this process.
