Sarah and I have mentioned a few times that we are Canadian. If you know Canadians, there are a few things speak to our souls: hockey, the Raptors, Tim Hortons and Drake (there are actually a few famous people we love to claim, but this one works for my article, so stick with me, fellow Canadian readers). My friend from England laughs at me because, any time a famous Canadian comes up in conversation, I have to call them out as “being from Canada”. I don’t think I’m alone in this urge to claim.

Anyway, enough general Canadian intel. Let’s get specific: Drake’s clothing line – OVO – released a Disney collaboration on February 25th. Check it out at the link below:

OVO® / DISNEY

I love this collab for a few reasons:

1. OVO stands for October’s Very Own (Drake’s birthday month) and this feels extra special since Disney World’s anniversary falls on October 4th and last year was their 50th anniversary (Disney World is having a Birthday year, something that I can get behind).
2. Drake’s collection features the OGs: Mickey, Donald and Goofy. In my opinion, Donald and Goofy never get enough credit or fanfare.
3. It is truly Canadian in feel and aesthetic; Donald as a hockey goon just feels right.

Most of the collection sold out, but there were a few gems left for you to snap up as of when this article was published; specifically, some of the Donald hockey shirts, keychains or patches.

What did I get, you ask? I went for a variety of options.

First up: the OG himself in blue. The sweatshirt is expensive and I need another sweatshirt like Pete Davidson needs another tattoo, but the quality is amazing. The patch reminds me of a varsity jacket and the colour is perfect. It’s a “highly recommend” for me.

I also bought a blue baseball cap to match. The OVO in the front is written in Mickey’s own font and there is a stitched Mickey on the side. It matches well with the sweatshirt and will come in handy on those park days when I need some reprieve from the sun.

I grabbed the Moleskine notebook in red. Can’t wait to crack this open. Anyone that knows me, knows that back to school shopping was my favourite, this purchase just felt right. I need to figure out the perfect use for it before I do! Maybe some more Disney movie mash games (if you haven’t checked out that article yet, then read it here).

Lastly, I bought the teal Donald hockey tee. This was an impulse add-on and I’m glad I did it. It’s a tee that will age nicely and look great even as a vintage.

Overall, I’m excited to plan out my next Disney outfits to include a taste of Canada. I will be sure to share when I do. It will have to be a November trip with all of the new sweatshirts I have acquired!
